Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, dear brother/sister in Islam. I am here to provide some guidance regarding your question about performing Taraweeh prayers in a quick manner where the recitation cannot be understood or heard naturally.

Taraweeh prayers are voluntary prayers performed during the month of Ramadan after the obligatory Isha prayer. It is a highly recommended practice that has been established by the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the early Muslim community. The purpose of Taraweeh is to recite the Qur'an, reflect upon its meanings, and gain spiritual upliftment.

When it comes to the recitation of the Qur'an during Taraweeh, it is important to strike a balance. While it is not necessary to recite the Qur'an at an extremely slow pace, it is also discouraged to rush through the recitation so much that it becomes difficult for others to understand or hear the words clearly. The beauty of the Qur'an lies not only in its meaning but also in the way it is recited.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of reciting the Qur'an in a melodious and measured manner, taking into consideration the rules of Tajweed (the proper pronunciation and recitation of the Qur'an). This allows the listener to comprehend and appreciate the words of Allah and facilitates a deeper connection with the scripture.

Performing Taraweeh with such rapidity that the recitation cannot be understood or heard naturally is not considered ideal. It is important to remember that Taraweeh is not a race or a mere ritualistic act, but a means of worship and spiritual nourishment. It is recommended to recite the Qur'an in a moderate pace that allows for understanding and reflection.

In conclusion, it is preferable to recite the Qur'an during Taraweeh in a manner that is measured, melodious, and allows for comprehension. This helps to enhance the spiritual experience and connect with the words of Allah. May Allah accept our acts of worship and grant us the ability to engage with the Qur'an in a meaningful way. Jazakallah khairan.
