COURSE DESCRIPTION
The first step in learning to read the Holy Qur’an is to learn, recognize and read out Huroof e Mufridaat (individual letters) with proper pronunciations. Qaidah Nooraniyah is the basic book to learn these Arabic Letters. You cannot recite the Holy Qur’an properly without learning the Qaidah Nooraniyah first.
If you have a strong command of this Qaidah, then the Qur’an recitation will be easy for you. You can say that this is the building block for learning the recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Until you do not perfect these letters, you may face problems while reciting/learning the Holy Qur’an.
There is a series of Qaidah Nooraniyah courses in which you will learn how to read or pronounce the Huroof e Mufridaat, Huroof e Murakkabat, Muqatta’at, Harakaat & Tanween, Huroof e Madd o Leen, Sukoon & Shaddah in the least amount of time and the least amount of effort so that you can learn how to recite the Holy Quran with proper pronunciations and rules of Tajweed.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Part 1: Huroof e Mufridaat (Individual Letters)
- Arabic Alphabets (Hurooful Hija) & their Proper Pronunciation
- Makharij (points of articulation) of Letters
- Letter’s Recognition
- Train Students to read this lesson from anywhere (i.e. top to bottom and bottom to top)
- Classification of letters, in the local language, to make it easy to understand
- This chapter consists of 30 to 34 letters in which 28 letters are Arabic alphabets
- Focus on the child’s pronunciation and identification of Dots on different letters.
- Alphabets are the building blocks so they need special attention
- If this lesson is not taught properly both the student and teacher will be in trouble in later lessons
Part 2: Huroof e Murakkabat & Muqatta’at (Joint and Disjoint Letters)
- Understanding of Murakkab
- Shapes of Arabic letters (isolated, initial, medial, and final)
- Letter’s Identification
- Forming of words by joining different letters
- Different shapes of a particular letter
- Most of the letters are identical in shape but in the form of Murakkab they can be identified by the positions and number of dots
- One thing is important that the student will read each letter separately during reading these words
- Understanding of the Huroof e Muqatta’at (disjoint letters)
- These Huroof mainly occur at the start of Surahs of the Holy Qur’an
- How to read these letters separately, stretch them according to the defined length, and also perform Ghunnah when Ikhfa and Idgham (assimilation) occur
- Ways of Reading these letters, Wasl (by joining with the next letter) & Waqf (read one of these letters, stop and read the next letter)
Part 3: Harakaat & Tanween
- Knowing about Harakaat (Movements, also known as short vowels)
- Types of Harakaat (Fat-ha, Kasrah, Dhommah)
- Learn symbols of Harakaat and their proper pronunciation with each letter
- The point to be noted in this lesson is that Harakaat is neither prolonged nor read it with a jerk
- Knowing about Tanween (Nunation, also known as double vowels)
- Types of Tanween
- Munawwan letter
- Proper pronunciation of Tanween with each letter
- Actually, Tanween is nothing, noon saakinah plays an important role that appears at the end of the letter
- Practice to do ikhfa, idgham (assimilation), iqlab (conversion) and izhar
- Exercises of Harakaat & Tanween, while letters joined together, to make words
- How to do Waqf (pause), when there is Harakaat or Tanween on the letter
- We strongly believe that exercise & Practices are important than theory. So, we spent most of our time on the practice
Part 4: Huroof e Madd o Leen
- Knowing about standing fat-ha (kharha Zabar), standing kasrah (kharhi Zer), and standing dhommah (ulta Pesh)
- Learn symbols of standing Harakaat and their proper pronunciation with each letter
- Comparison between two popular Mus-Haf (printed Qur’an)
- Learn symbols of shorthand maddah letters (ا، و، ي. صغيره) and their pronunciation with each letter, used in Mus-haf Al-Madina (Uthmani script)
- Huroof e Maddah (long vowels)
- Types of Huroof e Maddah
- Identification of Huroof e Maddah
- Proper pronunciation of Huroof e Maddah with each letter
- Huroof e Leen
- Types of Huroof e Leen
- Identification of Huroof e Leen
- Proper pronunciation of Huroof e Leen with each letter
- Elongation limit of both Huroof, Madd o Leen

- How Mushaddad letter affects Huroof e Maddah
- How يرملون = ي + ر + م + ل + و + ن letter effects Tanween and ن Sakinah
- How the letter ب effects tanween, ن, and م Sakinah
