Summary of Surah Al-Asr
Surah Asr is Makki, and it has three verses. This short Surah explains the great principles of Islam and the constitution of human life. Regarding this Surah, Imam Shafi’i (رحمة الله عليه) said that if people only meditate on this Surah, then this Surah can be enough for their salvation. They are at a loss, even if they are rich in material and external means. However, those characterized by four qualities will be saved from loss: faith, righteous deeds, encouraging one another to the truth, and patience.
