Summary of Surah Al-Fil
This is Surah Al-Fil, and it has five verses. In this surah, the famous story is told, known as the story of Companions of Fil, when Abraha, the governor of Sana’a, has planned to destroy the Kaaba with an army of elephants. There were more or less 60,000 warriors with him, and the Quraish could not fight him; Allah sent small birds with pebbles, which caused havoc like modern bombs. This incident happened in the same year in which the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was born, and this event indicated that soon the faithful guardian of the Kaaba would be born.
